Latina Leadership Committee (LLC)

The Latina Leadership Committee (LLC) seeks to ensure the human rights of all Latinas by advocating for and raising the voices of unheard Latinas in the reproductive justice movement. In this way, Latinas are working to ensure access to the full range of reproductive health services for Latinas in Georgia. The LLC is composed of Latinas, leaders and activists, who have come together to promote a message of empowerment, advocacy, and civic/organizational participation and leadership. All of our work is a collaboration of diversity and passion, coming together in the hopes of affecting a million more.

Latinas continue to face serious health care access barriers and consequently poorer health outcomes, especially in the area of reproductive health. By all measures, Latinas are faring far worse than others in numerous reproductive health areas, including breast/cervical cancer, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections and teen pregnancy.

The Project is committed to developing a group of well-informed Latina leaders, activists, and volunteers, who will educate and organize in their communities, connect and participate with our state’s reproductive justice movement, and ultimately, influence reproductive justice policy and politics in our state.
