The Feminist Women's Health Center (FWHC) and its three programs, Cliff Valley Clinic, Division of Reproductive Medicine, and our Community Education & Advocacy Network, are firmly committed to your right to privacy and security. This notice describes our privacy policy and by visiting www.feministcenter.org you are accepting the practices of this Privacy Policy. Although this privacy policy is not a contract and does not create any legal rights, it does serve as an expression of our commitment to protecting the personal information of our virtual supporters and visitors. We will update this privacy policy when we determine it is necessary and without any prior notice, so please be sure to re-read it periodically. Collecting and Using Personal Information Thank you for your interest in the Feminist Women's Health Center. When you visit our site and when you communicate with us via our site, we will not collect personal information about you unless you provide us that information voluntarily when you become a member of our advocacy network, send an email question, make a donation, etc. If you do submit information to us, we may use that information for the purposes for which it was submitted. We may also use the information you supply to us in other ways, including contacting you about other FWHC services, programs, news, fundraising or as otherwise disclosed to you when you submitted the information to us. For example, if you choose to donate online to FWHC, we will add your information to FWHC’s donor database, and you will be contacted about other FWHC services, programs, news, and/or fundraising. Another example is when you join our advocacy network, you will receive information about actions, legislative issues, and other relevant advocacy issues. You will also be added to FWHC’s donor database and will receive fundraising communications and/or news from FWHC. We will need your email address in order to add you to our advocacy network and we will also need your postal home address to ensure that we can properly match you to your correct legislative districts and that any targeted messages can be delivered to you. If you choose to donate online to FWHC, you will have to provide your credit card billing information. Please see below under Security for how this information is protected. However, the credit card information that you provide at the time of donation is used only to process your donation and will not be used for any other purposes. Please be advised that third-party vendors may be engaged by FWHC to provide services on this site. In these cases, the information that you supply on this site may be provided to these vendors on a confidential basis so that these vendors can provide these services. An example is the company that facilitates on-line donations or processes credit card transactions on our behalf. What User Information Do We Have? As is true of most websites you visit, our logging software recognizes the home server of visitors, but not their email addresses or their identities. If you voluntarily provide it as discussed above, we may collect a user’s email address or other information if you make an on-line donation, join our advocacy network, etc. However, we may also collect information at the time of your visit such as the amount of time you spend on www.feministcenter.org web site and any errors encountered – we use this information to put together statistics (possibly with the assistance of outside consultants) that show the number of visitors to our website and to help us make our site more helpful to its visitors. Security All information provided when you donate online via the Presto Donate site is transmitted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL technology). SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt data before you send it. Please be advised that Presto Donate is a third-party vendor engaged by FWHC to provide services on this site. While it uses secure technology to protect your data during transmission and storage, FWHC cannot guarantee the security of Presto Donate's process. Please refer to their Privacy Policy for more information. We also main the security of stored data through firewalls and internal policies that ensure that it is only accessible by certain qualified employees of FWHC. While we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us and FWHC strives to protect your personal information and privacy, we cannot guarantee or warrant the absolute security of such information. No data transmission over the internet or data storage is 100% secure due to hacking, fraud, forgery and other limitations security and/or authentication features of our system. In addition, FWHC’s website potentially may include viruses and/or material that could permit unauthorized access or cause potential damage to the data and information on your computer.
