Our internship program is one of the most unique opportunities for students to experience the realities of working in a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring all choices for all women. Each internship will be centered around one main project. Other requirements include participation in our leadership skills training program, cross-training in volunteer recruitment, community outreach, political advocacy, fundraising, etc., and team-building with other interns.
A flyer on our Internship Options is available for you. If you are interested in any of these internships, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator or call (404) 248-5445. We have found that it is helpful for both the prospective intern and the Feminist Women's Health Center to have a preliminary discussion about matching your interests with our program needs. In addition, there are often multiple applicants for the same internship.
Internships can be arranged all year long, however, interns in the summer internship program typically come to us from across the U.S. and there is a greater opportunity for cross-training and team building.
In order to apply for an internship, you will need to complete an Internship Application to send along with the following other materials:
(1) Cover Letter
(2) Resume
(3) A Recommendation Letter
(4) Transcript Copy, and
(5) Writing Sample of 1 to 2 pages answering the questions: "Why is being an intern at the Feminist Women's Health Center important to you?"
