As the only program in the state of Georgia to address this critical need, the Lifting Latina Voices Initiative (LLVI) has launched its Community Health Promotoras project. In a nutshell, the Promotoras will increase access to vitally needed, preventive reproductive/sexual education and services for Latinas, their daughters, sisters and peers. It is a program specifically designed by Latinas, for Latinas, in a Latina culturally relevant and meaningful way.
The LLVI is at a pivotal moment – we are ready to launch. This six-member cohort of reproductive health Promotoras will begin educational outreach to Latinas and their families in their neighborhoods in DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett and Cobb counties.
