The Feminist Women's Health Center is a host facility for the Reproductive Health Externship Program of the Medical Students for Choice (MSFC). MSFC is dedicated to ensuring that women receive the full range of reproductive healthcare choices and recognizes that one of the greatest obstacles to safe and legal abortion is the absence of trained providers.
As medical students and residents, MSFC works to make reproductive health care, including abortion, a part of standard medical education and residency training. MSFC also works to bolster grassroots networks of support and activism and to reform medical school curricula and residency programs to include reproductive health and abortion care.
The MSFC Reproductive Health Externship Program requires simultaneous applications – you need to submit a FWHC internship application with the noted supplementary materials and also apply through the MSFC website.
In order to apply for an Extern with Femnist, you will need to complete our application along with the following materials:
- Cover Letter
- A recommendation letter
- An official copy of your transcript copy
- A 1 to 2-page writing sample addressing the following question: "Why is being an extern at the Feminist Women's Health Center important to you?"
If you have any questions about our Medical Students for Choice Externship program, please contact our Internship Coordinator or call the Community Education and Advocacy of Feminist at 404-248-5445.
